Hi, I’m Rachel

I’m freelance video editor, audio engineer, photographer, and musician based in Chicago, Illinois.

Originally from Andover, Massachusetts, I grew up surrounded by music and started playing piano at four years old. My love for music eventually led me to Belmont University, where I graduated in 2024 with a B.S. in Audio Engineering Technology and a minor in Video Production. During my time there, I developed a passion for both the technical and creative sides of the industry while building lasting friendships and finding a home in Nashville's DIY music scene.

My career has allowed me to work across several corners of the industry. I've worked as an Assistant Audio Technician at Ocean Way Nashville, helping maintain and repair consoles, patchbays, outboard gear, and other recording equipment. Alongside that role, I've built a freelance career in video editing, photography, and audio production, working with artists, businesses, and content creators to bring their ideas to life.

connecting with my community

One of the most meaningful parts of my college experience was joining my best friend's band, Raccoon Junior. Through performing, recording, creating music videos, and producing promotional content, I discovered how much I value collaboration and creative community. That experience reinforced a lesson that continues to shape my work today: great things happen when people bring their unique skills together to create something larger than themselves.

After recently relocating from Nashville to Chicago, I'm excited to continue growing as a freelancer while pursuing new opportunities in video production and live audio. I love stepping outside my comfort zone, learning new skills, and collaborating with passionate people. Whether it's through sound, video, photography, or music, my goal is always the same: to help create work that connects with people and leaves a lasting impact.
